Other activities

Besides my day job I also undertake some other related activities. I regularly speak on an internal platform of my employer. I have coached several students towards their graduation. I went to a couple of conferences and spoke at a few too.

Of special note are the following activities:

April 16th 2008 - Building a Domain Specific Language with ANTLR v3

At the J-Spring 2008 I hosted a session on the subject of ANTLR v3. In this session I gave an overview of ANTLR v3’s features and presented a couple of working demo’s.

September 4th 2007 - University Eclipse 3.3: Mylyn en Monkey

A colleague and I hosted a session on the new features in Eclipse 3.3. We also took some time to showcase Eclipse Mylyn en Eclipse Monkey. It was an evening filling undertaking for which we prepared CD-ROM based student material. With the provided material all attendees were able to install a complete Eclipse Europa install containing all the bits required for the evening, including code examples, documentation and server software.

About 35 people attended our session and the comments afterwards indicated that we executed a well planned and successful evening.

September 11th 2006 - What user interface do I choose for my Java Application

It was a dutch language session about several options to consider when building UIs for Java applications.
