I agree with you, those arguments can't be solid against Java. However I still think Java is a very limited language (not for the same reason however, the problems are more about true object oriented programming and use of evolved design patterns) : you have plenty of code to write (in a somwhat wired way - no dynamic typing nor dynamic binding, no true messaging system with delegation, etc.) Look at Objective-C, Cocoa would never have had such power if had been written in Java. Even the Apple's Java bridge (now deprecated) was some can kind of wrapping trick to allow Cocoa programming in Java, it wasn't powerful at end.</description>
